Last Month's Supreme Court Event NNWLA would like to thank all of the Nevada Supreme Court Justices and the Clerk of the Court, Elizabeth Brown, for participating in our event last month. We all had a wonderful time mingling with the Justices before the discussion. Below, please find some photos that were taken while the Justices answered our questions and provided invaluable tips on practicing in the Nevada Supreme Court. Join the 2018 NNWLA Board The NNWLA Board is seeking volunteers to fill leadership positions on the 2018 Board. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming more involved with NNWLA by contributing your ideas, talent, and enthusiasm to this fantastic organization! The NNWLA Board and committee members typically meet for 1-2 hours each month to plan CLE events and networking opportunities for our members. This is a great opportunity to meet other NNWLA members. For more information about these opportunities, please contact Marilee Cate at [email protected]. Recommended Reading From Our Supreme Court Justices Our Nevada Supreme Court Justices provided those in attendance at our last event with tips on writing captivating briefs and advocating winning oral arguments. At the event, they provided us with recommendations of different books to provide lawyers with the tools to be successful. One of those books that was recommended is a book called "Plain English for Lawyers." Originally, this book was a law review review article. Based on the popularity of the article, Mr. Wydick write the book. If you are interested in reading the law review article, please go to the following link: http://scholarship.law.berkeley.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2362&context=californialawreview. If you have a recommendation for an interesting or useful book, please email us your recommendation by sending it to Kendra Bertschy at [email protected].
