NNWLA Tailgate: September 14, 2019

Join NNWLA for a tailgate and football game on September 14, 2019! Bring the family for a fun afternoon with games, food, and drinks before kick-off at 4 p.m.! The cost is $25 per person, and will include your end zone ticket for the game, and food and beverages at the tailgate.

Joint Event with the Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce: October 9th

Please join NNWLA and the Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce for this exciting joint event, "Bridging the Gender Divide in a Divided Society."  Panelists will include the Honorable Connie Steinheimer; Assemblywoman Jill Tolles; Marily Mora, President and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority; and Dr. Karin Hilgersom, President of Truckee Meadows Community College.  The event will take place at 5:30 pm at the Chamber, 449 S. Virginia Street.  Special thanks to the Chamber for providing wine and appetizers.

Judge Doherty Retires from Second Judicial District Court

Judge Frances Doherty retired on August 2, 2109, after 22 years of service to the Second Judicial District court, Family Division. Judge Doherty is the longest serving Family Division judge, having been elected in 2002 and reelected in 2008 and 2014. During that time, she twice served as the presiding administrative judge.

We wish her well in her retirement and future endeavors.

Article of the Month

Organizations that don’t realize the importance of women in the workplace are missing out. A study by the Center for Creative Leadership found that having women in the workplace actually makes the organization a better place to work. Check out the article here.
