Please Welcome Our 2019 NNWLA Board!

During our December meeting and annual Holiday Party, the NNWLA membership elected the new officers for 2019: President Katie Hoffman, Vice President Kendra Bertschy, Secretary Stephanie Funk, Treasurer Jenna Garcia, Communications and Newsletter Chair Bronagh Kelly, Newsletter Committee Samantha Revilgio, Chelsea Mazza, and Andolyn Johnson.

President Katie Hoffman served as Vice President in 2018 and is a Director at Fennemore Craig.

Vice President Kendra Bertschy served as the Communications Chair in 2018 and is an Deputy Public Defender at the Washoe County Public Defender's Office.

Secretary Stephanie Funk is new to the Board in 2019. She is an associate at Fahrendorf, Viloria, Oliphant & Oster.      
             
Treasurer Jenna Garcia will serve a third term as our treasurer. Jenna is a Specialty Court Attorney at the Washoe County Alternate Public Defender's Office.

Communications and Newsletter Chair Bronagh Kelly is new to the Board for 2019. Bronagh is an associate at Woodburn and Wedge.

Samantha Reviglio is returning to our Newsletter Committee for 2019. She is an associate at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. Chelsea Mazza served as the secretary in 2018. She is a Deputy District Attorney at the Washoe County District Attorney's Office. Andolyn Johnson is new to the Committee for 2019. She is a Deputy Attorney General at The Office of The Nevada Attorney General.

Thank You Veterans Memorial Shoppers and Donors!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, their families, and law firms, NNWLA was able to shop for 61 deserving children from Veterans Memorial Elementary School. 

This event would not have been possible without the wonderful shoppers who showed up bright at early at JC Penney, some of whom shopped with multiple children. Update: January Event Cancelled

Unfortunately we have to cancel our event scheduled for January 8, 2018. Due to scheduling at the Riverside Movie Theater, On The Basis of Sex will not be showing on this date. We are disappointed as we know this would have been a great night. We are hopeful that the movie will make its way to Reno very soon and we can look at rescheduling our movie outing for another date.

In the meantime, we will process refunds to those who had already purchased tickets.

Please join us on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at noon for an ethics CLE luncheon with a presentation by Kait Flocchini from the State Bar's Office of Bar Counsel.  The event will be held in the large conference room at the Washoe County District Attorney's Office at 1 S. Sierra Street.  Lunch will be catered by the Cheese Board.

In honor of Women's History Month, NNWLA will be hosting a special event at the Supreme Court in Carson City on March 20. In the recent elections, Nevada elected a female majority Supreme Court and made history by becoming the first state with a female majority Legislature. We always enjoy the opportunity to hear from our distinguished Supreme Court Justices. Please join us for this exciting event.

As 2018 has now come to a close, please take a moment to renew your NNWLA membership for 2019. As a reminder, your dues are for the entire 2019 calendar year.
