UPCOMING EVENTS

Thursday June 23, 2022, 8-9 a.m.: NNWLA invites its members to gather for breakfast during the State Bar Conference in the Sonoma Valley Room. We would love to see you there!

Thursday August 25, 2022, 5:30 p.m.: NNWLA will host a Judicial Candidates Forum allowing our members and others in the legal community to mix and mingle with judicial candidates. More information will be provided as the event comes closer.

September 14, 2022, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.: NNWLA will co-host a CLE entitled Empowerment through Pro Bono with the United States District Court and Washoe Legal Services. 

Saturday September 24, 2022: NNWLA is participating in the Nevada Latino Bar Association's Andale 5K event. Last year, we met at Idlewild Park and completed the virtual course together and we plan to do the same thing this year. Register here as a member of Team NNWLA! Registration is $25, but prices will increase after June 24.

WOMEN ON THE BENCH

​On March 24, 2022, it was announced that Anne Rachel Traum and Cristina Dionne Silva were appointed by the President to serve as United States District Judges for the District of Nevada. Click here to read Chief Judge Miranda M. Du's official announcement.

On June 15, 2022, Nevada's female majority Supreme Court held its first hearing with an all-female panel. Justice Pickering stated to reporters that "It is definitely a milestone and one that is significant. Both, I think personally for all three of us, and also just to the extent that our younger women looking at what they want to do when they grow up." Read more on this momentous occasion here.

MENTORSHIP GROUPS ARE UNDERWAY

NNWLA is offering Mentorship Circles again this year. We requested interested members fill out a form to help us create these groups. The groups have now met up and are underway! If you are interested in joining, please email [email protected] and we will do our best to place you into a mentorship circle.
