NATIONAL JUDICIAL COLLEGE EVENTThe National Judicial College is offering a free event celebrating the birth anniversary of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the form of a lecture in memory of her impact on the law and our society. The inaugural RBG lecturer will be Deborah Jones Merritt distinguished professor of law at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. Professor Merritt clerked for both Justice Ginsburg, on the D.C. Circuit, and Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court. The program will also feature special tributes to Justice Ginsburg from honored guests. If you would like to register for this event, please do so here. NEVADA BAR SEEKS EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBERVolunteer Opportunity: Join Nevada Lawyer Editorial Board The State Bar of Nevada has committee and board vacancies waiting to be filled by the right volunteers. In addition to being a great experience and a wonderful way to become involved, serving on a state bar committee or board is an excellent way to expand your professional network and to make contacts with Nevada attorneys who work in a variety of different practice areas. Those interested should visit the bar's website and complete the Committee Application form for New Members. The Nevada Lawyer Editorial Board has one vacancy. Attorneys with backgrounds in all areas of law and a familiarity with publishing are sought to serve on the Editorial Board, which is responsible for overseeing the editorial content in Nevada Lawyer magazine. Board members rotate monthly issue editor duties; during the assigned month, the editor solicits, collects, reviews, edits and approves feature stories and cover art. Board members meet monthly via teleconference and twice annually in person in August and March for a full day. Committee members are appointed by the Board of Governors for three-year terms. FEBRUARY CLE RECAPOn February 26, 2021, NNWLA held its first CLE of the year. We heard a presentation on implicit bias by Kelley R. Jones and Kristin Henning. We would like to thank Ms. Jones and Ms. Henning for spending their time giving this presentation! All attendees had great reviews.
